OUR GUIDE TO CURATING YOUR PERSONAL ART & DESIGN COLLECTIOn

Timeline (Natural History) 2011, acrylic and collage on canvas, 96″ x 135″

If you are looking for artwork that is rich with eclectic meaning, can be simultaneously escapist and reflective, and is visually striking, American artist, Aaron Morse’s work, would be a fantastic addition to your personal art collection.

By merging painting with collage taken from comics and advertising, Morse creates surreal and fantastical compositions that represent both ‘reality and fantasy’.

Taking influence from 19th century literature, ancient mythology and geographical and historical journals, ecology is one of the main themes of Morse’s work. He presents wild, colourful natural landscapes that feel vibrant and alive. They appear to be from the past or from fantasy, which seemingly contrasts our real world. Yet, there are also temporal tensions between his intricately placed layers that connect a sense of the past with the present that makes his art both a paradox and reflection of the real world.

Whenever you think you have seen everything in one of his artworks, there is always more to find.
